Walk of Fame Inductee - Greg May!

The Union Street Players 2024 Walk of Fame Inductee is Greg May!

We are thrilled to announce that Greg May will be inducted into the Union Street Players’ Walk of Fame for his countless contributions to our theatre family and the significant impact he has had on our community. Greg’s dedication has helped shape Union Street Players, and we can’t wait to honor him in this special way!

About Greg

Greg's first experience in theatre was playing Santa Claus in a 3rd grade Christmas play, in a suit made by his mother. His next opportunity was in Jr. High and his acting continued through High School, College, and Community Theatre.

He ran sound for the Union Street Players' Tulip Time production of "The Murder Room" in 1991 and his first acting role in a full-length play for USP was "Arsenic and Old Lace" in 1992. Although, he did participate in the beginnings of USP in a one-act play in theatre in Pella's Central Park, directed by Beverly Graves, in the late '80's.

Since then, he has appeared in over 35 shows with Union Street Players.  Among his favorite productions were "The Music Man," "Guys and Dolls," and "The King and I."  His first time singing a solo onstage came with "The Music Man" in 1997.

Many friendships have been formed in these numerous productions that continue through today.  Greg is also heavily involved in the Knoxville Area Community Theatre and has performed with Newton Community Theatre as well.

He would like to thank his biggest fan for all of her support over the years - his mom, Sherrie May!  He is greatly honored to be inducted into the USP Walk of Fame and is proud to be joining his fellow inductees!

We hope you will join us as we honor Greg May at the 35th Anniversary Celebration.
